Flatwater 1 SUP Skills Clinic
The Flatwater 1 SUP Skills Clinic introduces the novice to paddling a paddleboard in calm sheltered water.
There is no certificate or pass/fail evaluation involved in Skills Clinics. Please look at taking a Skills Course if you require or want a certification proving you accomplished a certain paddle board skill level
This clinic introduces a few foundational paddle boarding strokes, along with basic safety concepts. This is an excellent course for the beginner who simply wants to learn how best to take themselves paddle boarding on a lake, and feel confident doing so.
Some topics covered include:
-Standing up, kneeling, and sitting on the paddle board
-Forward, turning, and braking strokes
-Falling off and remounting your board
-Appropriate gear and outerwear
-Paddle board design, equipment, and resources
-Most importantly: how to have a blast while staying safe!

No previous skill or prerequisites required.
Minimum 2 persons, maximum 6.
Ages 16+
Typical course length is 3 hours.
Location: Wedge Pond, Kananaskis
**Location and/or date may change due to weather or other factors.
Paddle boards, ankle leashes, paddles, PFD’s, wetsuits, watershoes, and splash jackets are provided.
